Coming Soon: TEC Hall of Fame Interactive Experience

Coming soon to the museum is a new interactive touchscreen exhibit featuring the TEC Hall of Fame, a program founded in 2004 by George Petersen to honor the audio products and innovations that have shaped the professional audio industry. The TEC Hall of Fame recognizes nearly 200 groundbreaking technologies spanning over 150 years of audio history, from Thomas Edison's 1877 cylinder phonograph to modern digital audio workstations. Inductees are selected each year by a panel of more than 50 recognized audio experts, including engineers, producers, educators, and journalists. Products must be at least 10 years old to be considered. Our interactive timeline will let visitors scroll through these innovations on a large-format touchscreen, exploring the stories behind each inductee with photos and descriptions. It's a hands-on way to experience how the tools of music creation and sound reproduction evolved over more than a century of innovation. The timeline will be featured alongside our updated Global Spotlight exhibit, giving visitors even more to explore on the museum floor.
