German-based fingerstyle guitarist Alexandr Misko represents a remarkable new generation of acoustic players. Still in his 20s, Misko has built a global following through viral videos — including a rendition of "Careless Whisper" that amassed over 80 million views in a single month — and a YouTube channel that now exceeds one million subscribers. In 2018, UK magazine MusicRadar named him Guitarist of the Year.
But Misko is far more than an internet phenomenon. A composer, arranger, and multi-genre instrumentalist with seven albums to his name, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, collaborated with Hans Zimmer, and tours globally as both a solo artist and in an innovative duo with harpist Alexander Boldachev. Self-taught in modern fingerstyle after three years of classical training, Misko draws inspiration from the pioneers who shaped the genre while breaking new ground with his own compositions and a one-of-a-kind self-invented instrument.
