Danny Green

Pianist and composer Danny Green has garnered a reputation in the jazz community as an emerging artist whose music sounds simultaneously seasoned and fresh. Showcasing a brilliant blend of jazz, Brazilian, Latin, and classical elements, Green’s music engages listeners with evocative melodies and infectious rhythms. According to JazzReview.com, “Danny Green is what evolution in jazz is all about, expressing the traits of those that came before him, with a style and panache that is all his own...an individual who expresses what is inside of him.”

A rising creative force on the Southern California jazz scene, San Diego pianist/composer Danny Green has distinguished himself with his beautifully articulated touch and deep affinity for combining elements of jazz, Brazilian, and classical music. Green’s stellar trio, which includes bassist Justin Grinnell and drummer Julien Cantelm, performs Green’s original compositions, jazz standards, and Brazilian classics. Green’s group has twice received Best Jazz Album at the San Diego Music Awards and nominated Album of the Year. Their latest album, Altered Narratives, remained on the Jazz Week Top 50 chart for 15 weeks and was selected as one of the “Top 30 New Releases” by Pubic Radio International’s “Jazz After Hours” program.
