September 18: The Art of the Stompbox: "Cyborg Orchestra & Telephone Chains"

Steve Willard presents guided performances for a participating audience

Composer and poet Steve Willard guides a group of community and professional musicians in performances of works featuring voice, electronic and acoustic instruments, and stompboxes from the exhibition.  In workshops and performances throughout the U.S., Willard has invited audience members to compose, improvise, and perform collaboratively. For this concert, audience members will help compose a short piece for the assembled group, and will take stompboxes into their own hands, manipulating streams of live and recorded sound.

Tickets are $10, $7 for Museum members.
