On April 23rd, 2008, master violinmaker Gregg Alf presented a rare one-on-one workshop. Violinmakers were encouraged to bring their instruments and prepare questions for Gregg Alf. Non-violinmakers interested in the art were in attendance as well.

At 6:30 PM, the public experienced an insightful and educational program featuring professional violinist and USC faculty member, Professor Endre Granat, who joined Gregg for a comprehensive presentation of the violin. Granat played on a variety of violins from the exhibition and premiered a new Alf violin. In addition, Granat and 3 other musicians played the Alf quartet highlighted in the exhibition.

This program was sponsored in part by Jade Schulz, Jade J. Schulz Violins and the Southern California Association of Violin Makers.
