SAXibit: Celebrating the Saxophone explores this story of the saxophone from its birth, setbacks and its eventual acceptance by musicians, listeners and composers. The exhibition challenges us to consider how something new becomes entrenched in our world, our experience and our musical lives and features a variety of saxophones ranging from historic pieces hand-built by Adolphe Sax, to models associated with major musical styles such as Vaudeville, Jazz, Rock and Classical, to artifacts of iconic musicians.
