In conjunction with "The Harp: A Global Story of Man, Music & Medicine," the museum has developed a community-outreach program that will bring hand-painted harps to different locations throughout Carlsbad. Illustrated by local artists, these instruments will be on display as objects of delight and curiosity to residents. Additionally, children from the Carlsbad Boys & Girls Clubs will have the chance to learn and create music with beginner-friendly Harpsicles® during educational sessions.

The music program at Joli Ann Leichtag Elementary School is a unique multi-year museum/school partnership that seeks to provide a systemic music education to the 800+ students at the school. This program features weekly music instruction, lessons in music history, and hands-on experience with dozens of instruments.

The Museum of Making Music provides informative, music-filled presentations for your local club or social group. The Speakers Bureau presentations provides a brief, engaging overview of the of the museum's history, its exhibitions and multi-faceted programming for children and adults.
Each year the Museum of Making Music receives hundreds of requests for donations to support community benefit programs and third-party fundraisers. Unfortunately, we are unable to make financial contributions to these events, but we are more than happy to provide donations of admission passes to the Museum of Making Music. Although we can not accommodate every request, we do consider each and every one that we receive.
